Food Banks, the Vulnerable, and COVID-19

An Important Message from Our Founder

Dear Focus Relief Subscribers,

I hope this email finds you well. We live in challenging times. The shared anxieties over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) affect us all.

Let’s be honest. Focus Relief Photography for Charity is not an essential service. In what we do and who we support, it is food banks across the country that are at the front lines of providing essential services – food distribution, nutrition programs, etc. – to communities that have traditionally been the most vulnerable – children, the elderly, the poor.

One of our key partners, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, continues to offer its services to those in need. They’ve had no reported cases of Coronavirus among its staff or partner agency network. We are grateful for such news.

According to the Food Bank, the Coronavirus is disproportionately impacting lower-income communities. Changes to school and work schedules are putting an extra burden on people and families throughout the County. Making important, health-conscious changes to their volunteer and distribution models is causing unplanned expenses for the Food Bank.

If you believe in the Food Bank's mission to mobilize resources in the community to alleviate hunger, I strongly urge you to consider donating your time and/or money to support such a worthy cause. We do.

Together, we can make a difference.

In peace,

Tarik Trad, Founder
