Sold-Out "Antarctica" Book Provides 80,000 Meals through Community Food Banks

At Focus Relief, we are tremendously humbled by the sales of Antarctica - A Photographic Expedition to help provide 80,000 meals through community food banks.

“Antarctica – A Photographic Expedition” is a full-sized, 92-page coffee table book, filled with nearly 100 one-of-a-kind photos along with intimate stories from this transformative journey, as my camera and I traveled to the ends of the world – literally – in Focus Relief’s quest to end hunger in the U.S.

As its founder, I want to thank you for this shared success, whether you purchased the book or shared our social media posts to get others to buy it – we did it! As I have told anyone who will listen, this was not MY book, it was OUR book. Collectively, together. It is not an understatement to say this would not have happened without your support. Today, the book is completely sold out.

You trusted in our vision to a) create a beautiful coffee table book and b) donate the profits to community food banks. Remarkably, we sold 90 percent of the books before it was printed, as pre-orders made up 223 of the 250 total copies available.

The math for providing 80,000 meals isn’t short on miracles, either. When we told the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank what we were doing, they found an anonymous donor to match our book sale profits. This will give hope to the most vulnerable in affected communities – children, the elderly, the poor, as some won’t have to make the tough choice between paying for rent, medicine, gas and food.

Together, we are making a difference.

While the book is no longer available, we have a gallery filled with limited-edition, fine art photography – wildlife, landscapes and abstracts – for every taste, style and budget. Not sure what to get? A Focus Relief eGift Card is the perfect answer as it takes away all of the guesswork.

Finally, the biggest part of what we are trying to do is inspire others – particularly the youth – to apply their energy, skill and passion to benefit humanity, even if it is making a difference to just one person. Whether it is a God-given talent or just an activity someone likes to do, it doesn't take much to give back. I found mine through photography. If someone can bake, read, write, speak, sing, dance or donate, we encourage them to put it to use for the greater good. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

In peace,
